You can find some amusing story about BOFH on The Register.
A good starting point to build this page was The Bastard Operator From Hell-Style Excuse Server, by Jeff Ballard: thanks, Jeff!
The excuses are:

• algorithmically generated mixing 3 random terms and prepending an optional random generated one (6 times over 13);
• randomly chosen from a precompiled list.

I found the image on the side browsing here on Serverfault, but where it all started was on this StackExchange chat.
